In 2021 we expanded to include a focus on sugar reduction and this marked the first International Sugar Awareness Week to help raise awareness of the damaging effect of too much sugar in our diet.
This annual campaign will be our chance to talk directly to the general public, Governments and NGOs on the need for sugar reduction and a national strategy to reduce sugar intake. We will also reflect on the progress made by the food industry to reduce sugar levels in their products so far. We will produce posters and factsheets for download by our members and we will set a theme too, to help guide our members in holding their own sugar awareness events.
