Dangerous levels of salt in sausages

30 November 2011

New research by Consensus Action on Salt and Health identified dangerous levels of salt in sausages. The survey found that having just two of the highest salt sausages could add up to over half your daily maximum for salt, and that only 7 of the 250 meat sausages contained less salt that a packet of crisps!

This is a particularly important survey due to the high contribution sausages makes in the UK diet (third largest at 6%).
